Terms of service
These terms are the agreement between you and [legal entity] for use of the Elsewhere app and this website. Using either means you accept them.
1. The service
Elsewhere encrypts files on your Android phone and, if you choose, stores the encrypted result under your account. Cloud storage needs an account. One person may hold one account.
2. Plans and billing
New accounts get 300 MB free for three months. Paid plans add more, billed monthly or yearly, at the prices on the pricing page. Any tax that applies where you live is added at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically at the price then current until cancelled.
3. Changing or cancelling
You can change size or cancel at any time. A subscription bought in the app is managed in Google Play and follows Google's refund rules. A subscription bought on this site is managed from your account here. On cancellation, the plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. Refunds beyond your statutory rights are at our discretion.
4. Going over your plan
If stored data is more than your plan allows, uploads stop and existing data stays readable. If the account stays over its limit or unpaid for 60 days, we may delete stored data after telling you by email.
5. Passwords and recovery keys
You alone are responsible for keeping vault passwords and recovery keys. We cannot reset them, recover them, or open a vault for you. If they are lost, the data cannot be recovered. This is how the product is built, not a fault.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use Elsewhere to store material that is unlawful where you are, to infringe the rights of others, or to attack the service or its infrastructure. We cannot inspect content, so we act on reports, payment signals and misuse of the service itself. We may suspend an account we reasonably believe is used this way.
7. Availability
We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee it runs without interruption. We announce maintenance in advance where we can. Keeping your own copy of anything you cannot replace is still sensible.
8. Liability
As far as the law allows, our total liability in any twelve months is limited to what you paid us in that time. We are not liable for data lost because a password or recovery key was lost. Nothing here excludes liability that the law does not let us exclude.
9. Ending the agreement
You may close your account at any time. We may end it for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, or where the law requires, with notice where we can give it.
10. Changes and governing law
We give at least 14 days' notice of material changes to these terms or to prices. These terms are governed by the law of [jurisdiction], and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction. This does not affect your consumer rights in the country where you live. Questions: legal@stonesafe.app.
